Terry Treetop books rank very high on my kids' list of favorites. They always love to sit down with me and read about Terry's adventures. Terry Treetop Finds New friends is another one they have just fallen in love with. It really teaches the ability to find new friends and go out and meet new people.  Terry has just moved to a new house and his dad has built him a wonderful tree house. But he's lonely so he sets off to meet new friends and invite them to play in his tree house. On his adventures he meets many animals, each working with their own skills (like Shelley the sheep is knitting, the egg is making eggs etc). I love this because it teaches kids that although they are all different they all have something they are great at and can give to the world.
The kids and I had a great time reading this book together. The illustrations are bright and colorful, and the story very relateable to children of any age. It is a great book for toddlers or preschoolers. It is also great for early readers, my five year old was able to sit and read this book by herself (with a little help from me) with very little trouble at all. It is great because she is able to read a story she loves, and even when she isn't reading the words the illustrations help her tell a story all her own. I love that this book is both fun for kids and teaches them an important life skill that they will use for as long as they live. (making new friends etc)
